I Heart Revolution 24K Gold Palette Review

Not too long ago, I attended the Revolution 2.0 Launch Party, which was so much fun and really filled me with more love for the brand that I had previously. You can see the vlog for the launch party right here if you want to check it out. The owner of 'Makeup Revolution' Adam Minto who has now switched the brand name to Revolution Makeup - I know v. confusing and will take me some time to remember to say, I already mix up my words vocally as it is! He gave a little speech on Revolution Makeup as a brand, he spoke about how they 'believe that everyone - no matter their sex, ethnicity, age, budget or location should be thrilled by makeup' which I found really uplifting and inspiring and the whole event made me want to check out more Revolution products.

I attended the event with Lauren, Siana & Ellen and we were all lucky enough to be given a cute little goody makeup bag which contained the 24K Gold Palette, a liquid lipstick and a highlighter which is very exciting. Having recently rediscovered my love and spark for beauty vlogging, I've also rediscovered my love for blogging and I believe that the love has grown in size, all I can think about at the moment is ideas and how I can put them into place - although that's another post for another day, be sure to follow me on Bloglovin' if you'd like to see that.

Onto the palette... On first initial impressions on the packaging, is that the melting gold chocolate bar effect is such a cool concept and they've definitely gone on a Too Faced Chocolate Bar vibe with this, the shadows even have that yummy chocolate smell to them too. It's relatively lightweight, contains sixteen eyeshadows in warm tones, six of the sixteen shadows are mattes and the rest are shimmers, this palette retails for £8.99 on the Revolution Beauty website so I think that's pretty amazing cost wise.

I had a little play around with a decent amount of the shadows and had an every day 'a bit extra glam' look in mind that I wanted to create when creating a makeup tutorial for my channel, you can see that here. I wanted to use the green colour 'Glacier' (watch me struggle to pronounce this on my channel haha) as I don't tend to use green that much anymore and when swatching it, it really drew me in - I also wanted to test out some of the gold/bronze colours too so I went for a combination of both and this is the look I came up with.

When swatching the matte shadows, I found the lighter shades to be quite difficult to get a good swatch and the shade 'Storm' which is the peachy transition shade to be quite light on my fair skin. The darker matte shadows that I tried such as 'Crown' (the darker brown) and 'Satellite' (the black that has a bit of a green tint in certain lights) are very pigmented so a light hand definitely goes a long way, so start off light and build up the colour until you like the intensity and you'll be on your way to a fit, smouldering smokey eye.

I was really impressed with the shimmer shadows, the shade 'Stun' really is, stunning. It swatches beautifully and when packed on with a damp, flat shader brush looks gorgeous on the eyes - alongside the shade 'Rock' - I put this under my lower lash line and it looked gorgeous too.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this palette - especially for someone who likes warm tones and is budget conscious, for £9 it's such a steal and would fit beautifully in your makeup collection. I also applied the new Pro Supreme Lip Pigment in 'Illusion' for this look alongside their highlighter palette and girl - what a glow!
