LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss 'Blackcurrant' Review

After lusting and lusting after the infamous liquid lipsticks that have merged onto the make-up scene and are slowly taking over lipsticks I finally found a brand online in the UK that's easy to get hold of (the majority of the liquid lipstick brands seem to be US based with steep shipping prices) so I decided to order one to try it out as i'd never tried a liquid lipstick before - so just the one will do for the time being. After what felt like forever and a day of adding and removing, adding and removing various shades to my basket I finally had my heart set on the shade 'Blackcurrant' which is a beautiful... blackcurrant shade. For once a shade name that describes the colour of the product perfectly, it's a pink based dark, dark purple shade that is incredibly intense.
First off - the packaging is simple nothing that makes me swoon but it does it's job perfectly and I appreciate the fact you can see the colour through the see through plastic as opposed to a plain black tube. The wand is a typical doe foot applicator - although slighter longer than most; which I personally love and find it really easy to apply.
I start off by applying the liquid lipstick straight from the applicator for the majority of my lips, before moving on to applying the edges with a lip brush for that precise shape. You can always clean up with concealer to make things look extra 'fleeky'.
When you first apply it, it feels just like applying a thick non-sticky lipgloss; it's a very hard consistency to explain but it feels fine applying it. You will need to work quick with this product as once it starts to set - it's there until you whip out a strong make-up remover so the lasting power is incredible. I would also suggest exfoliating and moisturising your lips thoroughly before applying the liquid lipstick as it is such an extreme matte finish it will cling to the dry patches.
Overall, I adore this lip product and have my eye on some more shades - so expect to see them featuring in some tutorials on my channel soon!
The pigment gloss retails for £6.95 on cocktail cosmetics.
