Getting Fit, Toned & Healthy

'Fitspiration' for Summer...

So, where shall I begin..
I've always been a bit chubby, a bit around the edges - but never in a really overweight way. I have skinny legs and skinny arms, but my belly is round and I have a bit of weight around my thighs too. So I've always struggled with insecurity issues around my belly, never ever, ever, ever would you catch me wearing a crop top, a bikini without trying to cover up.
I am definitely someone to get really into a fitness plan then just give up either due to temptation or due to just being down right lazy.
It's time for a change. I'm sick of having a pouch where those washboard abs should be, sick of having a flat bum where that peachy bum should be! Hehe...

I am actually genuinely really proud of myself at the moment for sticking to myfitnesspal for roughly about a month now and I have lost about 6 pounds!

How have I done/still doing it?
- Joined a low budget gym (who says you have to spend a fortune on being healthy!)
- Using myfitnesspal to track what I'm eating and it's given me the realisation of how much crap I really used to eat
- After a week of not having loads of chocolate/McDonalds/obsessive carbs/loads of mayonnaise etc.... I no longer was craving those foods as I was loving the natural foods which are packed full of flavour and colourful!

Here are some of the photos which I've taken inspiration from;
(none of these photos in this section of this blogpost are owned by me)

These are a couple of examples of meals that I've been eating recently;

Breakfast Example;

- Yeo Valley Blueberry Yogurt
- White Grapes
- Strawberries
- Blueberries

This actually fills me up and keeps me going for a while up until a mid-morning snack or lunch. I think it does that because of the natural sugars and the thickness of the yogurt! It also soothes that dry morning throat!

Lunch Example;

 - Italian Style Salad (pre packed bag of different types of leaves)
- Cucumber
- Yellow Pepper
- Cherry Tomatoes
- Beetroot
- Fresh Cooked Chicken Pieces
- Tiny bit of low-fat mayonnaise (1 tbsp) just on top of the chicken which I mixed in as I ate it, just to make the salad a bit less dry.

For snacking...
I've been really enjoying snacking on dried fruit such as apricots, raisins, cranberries and nuts aswell.

I hope you enjoyed this blogpost and it inspired you even just the tinciest bit to get on being fit and healthy! Remember it's not about being skinny, being fit is the new sexy!

Lots of love, shivvy xoxo
