Urban Decay Smoked Palette

this is right up my street!

Urban Decay Smoked Palette Review

Watch this video on youtube here:

So, if you know me personally or have worked it out from my beauty videos - you will know that I have an unhealthy obsession for smokey eyes and I love urban decay - so this palette is right up my street!
I saw xsparkage on YouTube do a review on it on her channel and I wanted to buy it for myself right then and there, so I went online but unfortunately it wasn't available in the UK at that point, i even tweeted Urban Decay directly asking when it was going to be available! They tweeted me back saying at the end of the month, I got so excited and kept looking on the debenhams website everyday and the second I saw it was in stock I ordered it!

This is what the palette itself looks like:

It comes in a zip-up palette, which I think is a really cool concept, because the Naked (Original) palette by Urban Decay has come open in my bag before and got messy, so it's great for travelling - it also comes with a handy mirror on the inside.

It comes with a 24.7 glide on eyeliner pencil in perversion which is AMAZING as well as the famous primer potion.

Here are some pictures and swatches of the colours themselves

Below: From left to right - Kinky, Freestyle, Mushroom, Backdoor, Blackout

Kinky: Kinky has a beautifully creamy texture, although out of all of the eye-shadows I would personally say that this has the least/worst pigmentation, it feels beautiful though.

Freestyle: Classic blending/nude colour, although for some reason in this photo which I haven't edited, it seems to look quite brown.

Mushroom: I love this colour! This is my second favourite colour in the palette, it's a shimmery taupe kind of colour, with gorgeous colour pay-off.

Backdoor: Nothing exciting, just a classic dark brown colour.

Blackout: A deep, rich black colour - always in a smokey eye palette some way or another.

Below; from left to right: Barlust, Rockstar, Evidence, Loaded, Asphalt

Barlust: This is by far my favourite colour in the palette! It has beautiful colour pay off as you can tell by the image below, it feels creamy and is easily blend-able - it's a gorgeous brown shade which seems reflect a golden bronze colour in the light, I love this!

Rockstar: A deep purple colour, I am obsessed with purple eyeshadow, but to me this is not my favourite purple shadow at all, I just think it looks a bit dull on the eyes and I felt like I had to add some extra glimmer to it.

Evidence: I'm pretty sure this is one of the colours that isn't new, because I recognize this colour, it's a gorgeous satin finish navy blue colour.

Loaded:  A deep green, with a small amount of shimmer.

Asphalt: A grey/silver/black colour - hard to describe, but not that amazing really.

Overall, I do LOVE this palette, and I can tell I will be using this palette alot when I go out partying, or just want to feel sexy lying around the house! The only thing i'm not too keen on but I can totally live with is this cheap looking cardboard underneath the mirror - mine is basically peeling off!

Shivvy's Loving Rating: 8/10

I hope you enjoyed this review and feel free to message me about anything personally:
